Is the Templar specialization in Dragon Age 2 a good choice?

I am struggling between picking a rouge, force mage, or going the templar route. I was going to go with Templar since Hawkes family has magic in their blood and although templars renounce the use of magic it seems they use it from what I have read on the wiki(endowing their blades and holy fire spells) they are the closest thing to a mage knight. Is that really the case? and does choosing the templar profession have an impact on my relationship with Bethany? Is the Templar specialization in Dragon Age 2 a good choice?
Templars don't naturally have magical ability. They use lyrium to power the abilities that they use to fight mages and demons. This often results in the Templar becoming an addict and over time suffering mental deterioration. When you meet an ex templar named Samson in DA2 he will explain some of this.

But, none of this applies to Hawke if you choose the Templar spec. It effects your abilities only, there is no impact on the plot. Bethany won't comment on it and neither will anyone else.

Which Warden Should I import into Dragon Age Origins Witch Hunt?

I romanced Morrigan fully in Dragon Age Origins and got to sorrow and regret epilogue and imported that Warden into Awakening? The decisions made in Origins carried over into Awakening and even into Golems of Amgarrak. I know it won't come out for another two days, but which one should I import into Witch Hunt?Which Warden Should I import into Dragon Age Origins Witch Hunt?
Import your Awakening save. Since you didn't have a bugged romance it should be fine. Your character will be higher level and have better equipment.

How do I unlock the staff of parthalan dragon age 2?

It says you have to look on there site but I can't find out how to unlock itHow do I unlock the staff of parthalan dragon age 2?
" I went to the "Staff of Parthalan" page: http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/info/pa鈥?/a>

On that page click the link that says "Click Here" to claim the staff, and it'll redirect you to a page where you can log into your EA account to subscribe to the DA2 newsletter. It's okay if you've already subscribed to it, just do it again. After wards, you can find your registered in-game bonus items if you sign into your EA account on this website and go to [Profile] %26gt; [Your registered game content].

After you've subscribed again to the newsletter via the link above, the PS3 version for the Staff of Parthalan (if you haven't gotten it already) should unlock. I can confirm that it did for me just now. If it doesn't for you, then, well...I have no idea what's wrong.

Hope this helps anyone having this issue. "

Where can I find the gemstones I need for the dwarves in Dragon Age: Origins?

At the party camp there's a communal box and the dwarves want some gem stones put in it. I can't find any anywhere. They suggested sapphires; anyone know where I can find a bunch of those?Where can I find the gemstones I need for the dwarves in Dragon Age: Origins?
You get them on drops all through the game from things you kill. Diamonds, sapphires, all that gem stuff.

You also can buy some from just about every npc merchant in the game. If you ended up unknowingly selling them to merchants before you did the dwarf quest, because you didn't think they were needed for anything, you can buy back from every merchant you have sold to, so go around to all the merchants in the game. I did this and picked up dozens as I did the dwarf part last, so I sold all my gems along the way, thinking they were trash for money lol.

  • Does importing your character from Dragon Age: Origins make any difference in dragon age 2?

e.g: The big choices like who you chose to be the leader of Ferelden.Does importing your character from Dragon Age: Origins make any difference in dragon age 2?
There is very little that really imports in to DA2 and none of it is really significant. You will see a few cameos, Alistair, Liliana, and Zevran most notably. There's also some minor differences in dialogue or side quests.Does importing your character from Dragon Age: Origins make any difference in dragon age 2?
Many of the choices made in Origins will reflect in Dragon Age 2. Obviously you can only play as Male or Female Hawke, and the story takes place during the "Darkspawn attack in Lothering"

If Alistar was made king in Origin's he will make an appearence at the end of Dragon age 2.

You will also hear a lot of talk about the choices you made in Origins. If you listen carefully people will say stuff about the blight and the Warden.

Sorry if this wasn't much help.Does importing your character from Dragon Age: Origins make any difference in dragon age 2?
I haven't played Dragon Age 2 yet (playing Awakenings now), but I've seen some videos where some of the characters in DA2 say something about the Warden in DA:O. If you made Alistair king in DA: O, then he will be king in DA2, things like that. I found this link, it might help you:

There's some dialogue changes and cameos, but nothing major.

In dragon age 2, what is the attack that Hawke uses to beat the Arishok in the opening video?

It just looks like two arms coming out of fire than he rips him in half. Is this an actual ability in-game?In dragon age 2, what is the attack that Hawke uses to beat the Arishok in the opening video?
No, that ability doesn't show up. Some players think that cinematic-style finishing moves (like what could be done to dragons and ogres in DAO) would have included that one, but they never made it in, except for the ones that take place within cut scenes. In dragon age 2, what is the attack that Hawke uses to beat the Arishok in the opening video?
Must be blood mage the way he touches his wounded skin and his eyes becoming red. So it would be the blood magic that deals damage. Use that magic and imagine there are dramatic armor arm coming out. lol

Who are all of your teammates in Dragon Age: Origins and how do you get them?

I'm wanting to get every character and don't know how to do it. If you could tell me who the characters are and where to find or get them, I would appreciate it. Thanks.Who are all of your teammates in Dragon Age: Origins and how do you get them?
the best thing to do is check out this site for the guide on the game,it will tell you all you need to know.hope this helps.http://guides.gamepressure.com/Who are all of your teammates in Dragon Age: Origins and how do you get them?
Just keep progressing through the game normally and you'll start your adventure (after Ostagar) with Alistair, Morrigan, and the dog.

    Here's what I remember (Name/Location)

    Leliana - Lothering
    Sten - Lothering
    Wynne - Mage Tower
    Zevran - Random encounter
    Ohgren - Orzammar
    Shale - Stone Prisoner DLC

Leliana is hard to miss, just enter the Lothering bar and you'll get her.

Sten can be missed entirely and never gotten again. Talk to him in his prison cell, and offer to release him. Go to the chantry and speak to the revered mother with Leliana in your party and ask for her to release Sten. Leliana will vouch for you, and Sten will be yours.

Wynne - Simply go to straight to the mage tower and she will offer to join you (If you are willing to help her.)

Zevran - After some story progression, you WILL encounter Zevran while trying to travel to your next destination. After the encounter ends, Zevran asks to join you.

Ohgren - He comes to find you as you embark on a quest called "A paragon of her kind." Which is needed to progress the game.

Shale - Is available to find if you have the DLC. It's pretty straightforward but the quest segment can be difficult, so be prepared.

There is a special "hidden" party member available to get, but I'll let you figure that one out. (It's hard to miss, and is an option much later in the game.)

  • What do you think is the better RPG game- Borderlands or Dragon Age Origins?

(This question is a re-post because of bad spelling in my last question.)

I really enjoyed these 2 games and I was wondering what everyone else thought of these games. What do you think is the better RPG game- Borderlands or Dragon Age Origins?
I'm personally a fan of medieval fantasy over futuristic apocalyptic settings, so Dragon Age: Origins gets my vote. What do you think is the better RPG game- Borderlands or Dragon Age Origins?
    Dragon Age by far.

Borderlands is more of an arcade styled rpg with a sub par story. The game was extremely fun, but to me a good rpg game has a deep story and more of a draw you in for hours kind of feel to it.What do you think is the better RPG game- Borderlands or Dragon Age Origins?
    Borderlands

Dragon Age 2: How do I stick to one character to play through?

For some reason, I can't stick to just one character and I keep creating new ones. The farthest I have gotten is to about halfway into ACT 2 and then I make a new character. Once that character gets through most of ACT 1, I make a new one. What are things that I could do stick with one character? I would very much like to actually beat this game.

Also, I like all character classes so the problem isn't "because I don't like being a rogue."Dragon Age 2: How do I stick to one character to play through?
Buy the black emporium DLC. It gives you access to a mirror that lets you change your appearance whenever you want and potions that let you reset your points/abilities or the points/abilities of your companions. If you ever decide you don't like your character you can just go make the changes you want without losing any game progress.Dragon Age 2: How do I stick to one character to play through?
I find a 2 handed warrior and a mage to be fun. The problem I found with DA2 is that it is veryyyyyy boring in the beginning I think you should just stick with it longer and it will start to pick up and get funner.

Another reason being that you will find a lot of cooler weapons, armor and items the farther you get.Dragon Age 2: How do I stick to one character to play through?
Well I would turn up the difficulty so it's a little harder so u tend to keep playing and not get bored because your runnin them over with mad skills and I found that the Mage is much more fun to play as because if kind is hated and u can blast foes away with man magic attacks u just go to get into it man I hope this helps
Break a bone every time you try to make a new character.

Good Bioware Games besides Dragon Age or Mass Effect?

I really like the Bioware games I've played so far. I've played Mass Effect 1, beaten Dragon Age 2, am currently playing Dragon Age: Origins, and will be playing Mass Effect 2 soon. I also plan on buying Mass Effect 3.

I've been wanting to try one of their older games. What do you suggest? Knights of the Old Republic? Baldur's Gate 1 or 2?Good Bioware Games besides Dragon Age or Mass Effect?
Defintily KotOR! I've played that game countless times. Of course I've used the cheats a few times for extra fun or to stay alive xP.

Also if your into Strategy games, try Universe at War. Being the big alien walker is insane fun.

If your into online gaming, you also ought to try there upcoming game: Star Wars: Old Republic.

Imagine KotOR like WoW but better. (I think %26amp; hope)

Is Dragon Age origins easy to play on xbox 360?

I want to buy dragon age origins for xbox 360, i have played it for pc and have played numerous rpgs for both xbox and pc. I didn't know if it was harder on xbox because you don't have the accessibility of spells since you are limited to buttons. also if you could compare it to another game in terms of how the spells are selected and how the controls are. thanks. Is Dragon Age origins easy to play on xbox 360?
Not really, and it's boring. Really boring, long tedious somewhat linear game pace.

Two questions in Dragon Age 2 how do you fight Arishok one on one?

    1. How do you fight Arishok one on one I never got that option. And I saw in a video on youtube that Isabella shows up with the book. But in my game Isabella never shows up. Earlier in the game I told Isabella to keep the book. Is that why?

    2. And why cant I use my health potion when my health gets low while facing Arishok and his gang of Quinari. I die every time. Two questions in Dragon Age 2 how do you fight Arishok one on one?
First, the Arishok *must* confer the title of "Bas alit'an" on you. It's a respect thing - he won't find you worthy of the trouble otherwise. Then, there are two ways to force the one on one duel:

    1) Your friendship or rivalry is high enough with Isabela, and she returns to the throne room confrontation with the book. The Arishok accepts the book, but will take Isabela, too. When Hawke protests, he offers instead the option to duel for Isabela's fate.

    2) Isabela skips out (friendship/rivalry insufficient to return), but Fenris is in the party. Fenris knows the Qun, and he will argue with the Arishok that by naming you "Bas alit'an" he's given you the right to settle a disagreement by combat.

Other than that, recommend you gear up with +Nature damage and/or +Cold damage, as these are what qunari are most vulnerable to. The cool down on potions are rather long, but there is also a bug which doesn't allow you to use a potion when the cool down has expired. You may have to click elsewhere on the screen or select something else until it releases.

Either way, the Arishok does massive damage with his impalement attack. Stay out of his reach as much as possible and don't be too proud to run. Kite him around the columns in the room and only attack when you have the best chance of getting quickly out of his way. Also, keep moving to avoid his charge, but when he stops at the end of it, you will have a second to two to jump in and hit him with some damage.

Good luck! Two questions in Dragon Age 2 how do you fight Arishok one on one?
Not sure on your first question, however your second question seems kind of weird. Honestly the best tactic against the Arishok is to run, a LOT, even as a warrior you can't take his massive blows without a break. During my fight, I had to keep moving, using grenades to occasionally stun him, and use health potions from my circle menu while the game was in soft-pause. Only attack the Arishok face to face when you either have full health, or when he's stunned and can't retaliate. Two questions in Dragon Age 2 how do you fight Arishok one on one?
    1. If Fenris is in your party he can negotiate the duel. The Arishok only offers the duel willingly if during your encounters with him you earned his respect. Isabela only comes back if your friendship or rivalry is high enough. She is gone for good otherwise.

    2. Health potions have a very long cooldown. You need to keep a character with low health running until you can use them again. Anders is also useful since he is the only healer.
    1) Massive spoilers...

Arishok is only available to fight one on one if you have high enough respect with him. You have to choose the "good" options, tell him Isabella has the book, talk nice about him behind his back, all that sort of stuff. Isabella only comes back if your friendship is high enough with her, otherwise she is out of the game for good. If you max your friendship with her, she returns, and you duel the Arishok for her life.

    2) No idea why you can't use your health potion, maybe the cooldown hasn't reset yet? I didn't have that problem. *shrug*

What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?

I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but be able to defend myself well too. Which type of weapon handling should I choose? (I will be the tank). What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
If you are going to be a tank you will want to use shield and sword the shield gives you extra defense so you'll be able to take a beating for longer without dieing and as a tank thats what you want. Also even though two handed deals a lot of damage it is slow many times by the time you're finishing swinging your weapon the enemy has moved out of range and with shield and sword if one of your companions is grabbed by an ogre and he wont let go you can use shield bash to potentially get the ogre to let go which is nice since thats usually a death sentence for who ever was grabbed. I've tried playing a tank with all three weapon sets and have found shield and sword is most effective otherwise you tend to lose health quickly and die easily and once the tank is dead all the other companions are at risk. What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
well if your the tank its sort of obvious. 2 handed for maximum power. however id go with the dual wield cuz u get a little less damage with one sword than u would with the 2handed, but u have 2 swords so ur doing more damage by dual wielding and you can defend better too. shield and sword would be best for defense but i hate the shield, its also really slow. go with the dual wield. good with defense and good attack

  • What is combat like in dragon age origins?

I've heard you don't control your troops directly in battle but here is what i want to know. Is it like in knights of the old republic where you just tell them what attack you want to use and they move themselves to do it or is it something completely different? I ask as i am considering getting this game for my 360.What is combat like in dragon age origins?
It is very similar to KotoR. At any time you may pause the game and order new targets, change tactics or tell to use abilities. Also you may control any character in your party directly and use its abilities while the others fight as you told them to.What is combat like in dragon age origins?
think of pausing combat and queuing up commands. that or you can use a AI script to make them do stuff on the fly by themselfs as in "you set *person* to use a potion at 25% hp* then in combat the person will do it without any command to do so untill you change it.
